Optoma Launches World’s First 1080p Ultra Short Throw Projector

Optoma Technology, a leading international projector and audio brand, has just announced its new range of super bright ultra short throw projectors, featuring both interactive and non-interactive models at 4000 lumens. The new easy installation range includes Optoma's first 1080p ultra short throw projectors, along with two WXGA resolution models. All four projectors are available to the market in Q3, 2015. At 4000 lumens, these are some of the brightest ultra-short throw projectors available in today's market. High brightness together with Full HD resolution and an ultra-short throw lens provides a huge picture the whole audience can easily see.

These high resolution projectors are perfect for businesses, schools and colleges and use a new generation of TouchBeam finger-touch interactive technology. This allows several people to work simultaneously on the screen without using a pen. TouchBeam makes it easy to draw, annotate, zoom and rotate images on the projected image. It's also possible to open documents or web browsers and interact with the content without the need of a computer.

Fast and easy installation is provided by the new mounting system, OWM2000, and auto calibration via computer. The OWM2000 wall mount comes preassembled for easy installation and features multiple adjustment options for integration with a variety of whiteboards. Optoma is also introducing the EWMA2000 plate which works with some of the existing UST mounts installed in the field. Customers will not need to worry about changing the mounts or mounting locations when considering Optoma's 320 series.

Optoma's Senior Director of Product Management, Jon Grodem, said, "We are excited to add the first ever 1080p ultra short throw projectors to our family of 1080p DLP projectors to further strengthen our position in 1080p market. The four new models offer high brightness and contrast making it possible to include complex detail in business and classroom presentations." Grodem adds, "With the new mounting system, which includes an adapter that works with mounts from other projector manufacturers, Optoma will also be able to provide better image quality to customers with minimum investment."

The throw ratio of 0.25:1 for the 1080p models and 0.27:1 for the WXGA models means they can project a 100 inch image (diagonal) from just 1.8 inches and 1.9 inches away nearly eliminating all chances of shadows on the screen. That makes these new 1080p ultra short throw projectors the ideal solution for those with limited installation space.

These Full 3D projectors can display true 3D content from almost any 3D source, including 3D Blu-ray players, 3D broadcasting systems, HPCs (High Performance Computers), and the latest generation games consoles. They come with a built-in speaker that delivers powerful 16W audio, with exceptional sound quality. Despite the small dimensions of these projectors, the built-in audio is capable of filling a normal size meeting room or classroom without external speakers. An audio output is also included, enabling connection to external sound systems, if desired. The new innovative design also makes for an ultra-quiet fan that won't interfere with lessons or meetings.

The new ultra short throw models include a wide range of input options, including two HDMI 1.4a inputs and two VGA inputs, making switching between a Blu-ray player, computer or other sources as simple as the push of a button. Added networking capabilities make it easy to manage the projectors remotely via RJ45 and compatible Crestron RoomView® software can be used to power on/off, monitor, manage and control up to 250 projectors at the same time from any computer. This allows IT technicians to monitor and turn off the projectors remotely and does not waste lamp hours by leaving them running all night.

Optoma projectors use DLP® technology which ensures the projectors retain their out-of-the-box image quality and brightness throughout their lifetime and, as there are no filters to remove and clean, they need virtually no maintenance. Eco mode also offers significant savings for both energy consumption and lamp life.

The EH320USTi 1080p ultra short throw projector will debut for the first time at InfoComm 2015 in Orlando, Florida this week and is expected to ship to customers in Q3. Visit booth #3612 to be among the first to see it.
